Welcome to Cliffdale

a bit of history

Cliffdale Christian Center was birthed out of a small group meeting in the living room of our founding elder, Noble Stanley. Within a few years the group found themselves in need of a dedicated pastor and God answered that prayer. The Goodmans had been serving as missionaries in Haiti where God had used them to deeply impact the nation. They responded to the call for help and relocated their family to Fayetteville.
At that time, the church was meeting in a store-front building where under the leadership of Pastor Emory Goodman they grew to a thriving body of believers in need of a larger meeting area. The congregation built the “log cabin” building, finally dedicating it to the Lord on August 12, 1990.

From foreign missions in Thailand, China, and around the world, to local missions reaching the homeless and destitute, the people of Cliffdale were active in carrying out the Great Commission. The church grew and broke ground on its current facilities in 1995. Their heart of service continued to launch the congregation forward into the community and a daycare and Christian school were established.
Pastor Emory Goodman served faithfully as senior pastor for 25 years and in March of 2012 he passed the baton of leadership to his son, Joshua. Today, Cliffdale continues to be a body of Christ-followers intent on being an instrument of change in the lives of the people of our community.

Our Vision

To be a place where love works.
Ephesians 4:16 From him the whole body, joined and held together by every supporting ligament, grows and builds itself up in love, as each part does its work.

Our Mission

We know we are here to Love God, Love Others, and Love the World. From Genesis to Revelation, the Word of God gives instruction, command, and examples of how we can accomplish that.

what we believe

• The Bible is the inspired, infallible, and authoritative written Word of God
• There is One God, eternally existent in three persons: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit
• The Deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, His virgin birth, His sinless life, His miracles, His atoning death, His bodily resurrection, His ascension to the right of the Father
• The personal return of Jesus Christ to this earth in power and glory to rule a thousand years
• The Blessed Hope – the rapture of the Church at Christ’s return
• The resurrection of both the saved and the lost; the first to everlasting life and the second to everlasting damnation
• The only means of being cleansed from sin is through repentance and faith in the blood of Jesus Christ
• The redemptive work on the cross also provides healing for the body
• The partaking of water baptism as an outward sign of an inner conversion experience
• The baptism of the Holy Spirit as equipping the saints for works of service
• The literal seven-day creation of the earth by God
